Chevrolet Announces Partnership with Daytona Rising Project

Chevrolet and the International Speedway Corporation are proud to announce they have entered into a long-term partnership that is intended to welcome Chevrolet as a Founding Partner at Daytona International Speedway where they will become involved in the Daytona Rising redevelopment project.
This is a unique and some would say historic opportunity for both Chevrolet and Daytona International Speedway (DIS). With a $400 million investment the entire front stretch that is almost one mile long will undergo a major renovation under the Daytona Rising project. The intent is to recreate this area and turn the DIS into what will be the world’s first true motorsports stadium complete with the latest in state of the art attractions and guest amenities.
A New Start
The Daytona Rising Project is scheduled to be completed by January of 2016, just in time for the new racing season. It will also give naming rights to one of the five new fan injectors to Chevrolet and include a freshly redesigned entry area covering over 20,000 square feet. This area will provide display space for new Chevy vehicles and a custom designed fan engagement experience covering four levels of concourse.
According to ISC Chief Executive Officer Lesa France Kennedy, “Chevrolet has been an integral part of the ISC family for many years and we look forward to continuing our strong relationship. As part of its activation at DAYTONA Rising and other ISC facilities, Chevrolet will represent its iconic automotive brand through interactive experiences with fans.”
Along with the new injector, Chevy will also have branding rights to one of the new football field sized “neighborhoods” that are to be located all along the brand new front stretch. These areas will include new dining areas and a plethora of video screens that allow visitors to see the race from multiple angles. In return for its investment Chevy will also be given the rights to supply pace cars for certain years and will become an official partner of “The Great American Race”, better known as the Daytona 500.
General Motors North America President Alan Batey has this to say, “Chevrolet’s commitment to racing originated more than a century ago with Louis Chevrolet and remains strong today as we solidify our presence at ‘The World Center of Racing’ by partnering with International Speedway Corporation, Daytona International Speedway and the DAYTONA Rising project. We look forward to enhancing the experience for race fans here in Daytona with the new Chevrolet injector entrance and neighborhood.”
What Is Daytona Rising?
The Daytona Rising Project represents a $400 million investment in the redevelopment and recreation of a true American Icon the Daytona International Speedway. The new design will feature a total of five new injector or entrances. These will lead guests to a number of elevators and escalators which will take them up to three freshly redesigned concourses where they will find “neighborhoods” or social interaction areas.
All of this will be built along the famous mile long front stretch where a total of 101,000 new permanent seats will be installed that are wider and far more comfortable for DIS guests. The new design also features more than 60 new luxury suites that offer trackside views along with a brand new corporate hospitality area.
This project is expected to create 6,300 new jobs for the area, bringing in over $300 million in labor income to the Daytona Beach area, and add $80 million in tax revenue. The entire project is expected to be completed just in time for the 2016 Rolex 24 at Daytona as well as Daytona 500. Join us in welcoming this addition to the “World Center of Racing” in spring 2016.
