Smokin’ Fast BBQ started as a dealership passion project and quickly became one of the most unique community programs at New Smyrna Beach Chevrolet.
From competition BBQ and award-winning ribs to school fundraisers, teacher lunches, and local events, the BBQ team has become a real part of how the dealership serves the community.
What began in late 2023 after Jeremy Kiel judged a Florida BBQ Association event has grown into competition wins, school support, community catering, and one of the most authentic local programs at New Smyrna Beach Chevrolet.
The idea began in November 2023 when General Manager Jeremy Kiel was invited to judge a local BBQ competition sanctioned by the Florida BBQ Association. After experiencing great competition barbecue firsthand, he wanted to bring that same energy and quality to the dealership.
That led to the first dealership BBQ competition held in partnership with the East Coast Cruisers Car Club and the Florida BBQ Association on Memorial Day Weekend 2024. The dealership purchased a Lang 60 offset smoker and cooked for spectators while eight professional BBQ teams competed at the event. More than 500 people attended.
After the success of that event, the team continued learning, cooking, and improving. A Texas BBQ trip helped shape the vision, and Smokin’ Fast BBQ expanded into dealership lunches, competition events, school catering, teacher appreciation meals, and concession fundraising.
The dealership’s first major BBQ event brought together eight professional teams and more than 500 attendees for a memorable holiday weekend competition.
Smokin’ Fast BBQ entered its first outside competition and won the People’s Choice Award with St. Louis spare ribs.
The team returned with expanded menu items including brisket and sliders, stronger booth presentation, and more community visibility.
What makes Smokin’ Fast BBQ special is that it is not just branding. It is built through real smokers, real cooks, real events, and real community involvement.
Smokin’ Fast BBQ has grown beyond competition and now supports schools, teachers, sports programs, car clubs, and local events across the area.
