The Navigation System
The built-in navigation section of MyLink can provide you with a local map of the area you are driving in, and help you to create a route to your next destination along with turn by turn directions to help you get there. MyLink offers you the option to search by street addresses as well as by points of interest. Overall results using MyLink have proven to be extremely successful using exact addresses, however you may have to wait for the system to develop more accurate information when inputting landmarks and named locations.
Once you have the directions firmly locked in place, MyLink will tell you when each turn is coming up, advise you of any traffic issues, and let you know if there are any tollbooths along your journey. The Communication System
The MyLink system will let you make hands-free phone calls using your smartphone and will also let you receive text messages. It offers a smooth Bluetooth interface that lets you use your phone as a speakerphone and you can initiate or end calls using the vehicle’s touchscreen. The built-in voice system lets you hear incoming text messages clearly so that you do not need to take your eyes off the road to read them on the screen where they are also clearly displayed. You can use your vehicle’s speakers to listen to and make calls instead of your phone, which is a clear advantage when driving.
The Entertainment System
MyLink offers a complete suite of entertainment features for your driving pleasure. The system includes an AM/FM HD radio and can access SiriusXM® satellite radio, Pandora, streaming music from your smartphone via Bluetooth® and many others. Navigating your way through the many channels on Sirius is simplified using the categorized navigation sections on the touchscreen. There are several memory slots available in the system for you to save your favorite radio stations.
Bear in mind that SiriusXM does require you to pay for a subscription and if you want to use online services such as Pandora you will need an internet connection via a smartphone or other internet capable device. You can also use the OnStar® 4G LTE connection built into your Chevrolet that also requires a subscription.
Overall the system is easy to use and offers a wealth of features including weather that displays current conditions in your location as well as those at your destination.
