The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is a faster, more powerful, more refined and more fuel-efficient Vette than all of it’s predecessors while having a more luxurious and refined interior. General Motors is leveraging current loyalist and hopes to pull in a new breed of Corvette customers that will be looking for a more exotic and international sports car style to fulfill their performance car desires.
This is the seventh iteration of the iconic American sports car that was introduced 60 years ago. The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette with have a starting price of $51,995 for the coupe.
STANDARD FEATURES: - new aluminum frame is 100 pounds lighter and 57 percent stiffer
- new 6.2-liter V-8 engine that produces 455 hp and 460 pounds-feet of torque
- seven-speed manual gearbox with what GM calls Active Rev Match, which anticipates gear changes for smoother shifts.
- high-definition 8-inch touchscreen in the center stack features Chevy’s fairly intuitive MyLink infotainment system
- 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds, Z51 performance model with an automatic transmission produced a 4.2-second reading on the digital 0-to-60 readout on the instrument panel
- smaller steering wheel – the smallest GM has ever used in a production vehicle – is meant to give the driver more-precise feel
- a hidden storage compartment behind the infotainment touch screen
- aluminum and carbon fiber accents; and a grab bar on the center console for the passenger
