Chevrolet Youth Baseball Enters 10th Successful Year

Chevrolet dealers all across America sponsor local youth baseball leagues as part of Chevrolet’s nationwide commitment to support youth sports, one community at a time. Now in its 10th successful year, the goal of the Chevrolet Youth Baseball grassroots initiative is to help local dealerships establish and maintain a positive relationship with the communities they serve.

The program provides new equipment, a financial contribution, and invitations to free instructional clinics. There is also an opportunity for members of the community to help raise even more money for their local team by taking a test drive in a new Chevrolet.

With more than 1,800 Chevrolet dealers involved in the Chevrolet Youth Baseball Program, the initiative has raised over $13 million to support the game and its young players across the country.

“There is nothing more American than Chevrolet and baseball, and New Smyrna Beach Chevrolet wants to combine America’s favorite brand and favorite pastime together for our families in New Smyrna Beach, Port Orange, Edgewater, and Oak Hill to enjoy,” added Kiel.

Southeast Volusia Babe Ruth Youth Baseball League

This year, New Smyrna Beach Chevrolet will present the Southeast Volusia Babe Ruth youth baseball league with a $500 donation and new equipment. The league is dedicated to providing instructional, competitive, fun baseball and softball opportunities to the boys and girls of Southeast Volusia County.

Serving more than 500 area families, the goals of the Southeast Volusia Babe Ruth youth baseball league are met with the help of community support and dozens of unpaid volunteers.

Equipment contributed by New Smyrna Beach Chevrolet include a 7’ x 7’ pitcher’s screen, a catchers set, two 4-piece waffle-bottom base sets, three cleat cleaners, three bat racks, five baseball/softball scorebooks, five equipment bags, and 120 T-shirts.

In addition to the monetary and equipment donations made by New Smyrna Beach Chevrolet, area residents can help raise additional money for the team. Between now and June 30, 2015, New Smyrna Beach Chevrolet will donate $20 to the Southeast Volusia Babe Ruth youth baseball league for each eligible test drive.
